First Night Escondido Job Title: Executive Director

50% position (Distribution of hours throughout the year to be determined.)
$25,000/ year. No benefit package.
Under the direction of the FNE Board of Directors, the FNE Executive Director is responsible to:
- Serve as the Project Manager for the annual alcohol-free, arts-oriented and family-centered New Year's Eve celebration, to include working with Board Committees to develop the annual event design and workplan. Maintain oversight of all aspects of the workplan and oversee its implementation.
- Represent the Board of Directors in developing and sustaining public and private funding sources.
- Serve as the primary representative of FNE in Public Relations and Marketing. Provide Website Administrator with content for the website. Maintain contact with prior donors and recruit new donors.
- Oversee the recruitment, training and coordination of all Volunteers for the First Night event.
- Provide staff support to the FNE Board of Directors, to include attendance at Board and Committee meetings and provision of regular reports to the Board as required by the Board.
- Administer the FNE private non-profit corporation, to include required reportage to governmental agencies and maintenance of all corporation physical and electronic records.
- Maintain awareness of developments in the First Night International organization which may have relevance to FNE.
- Provide for an evaluation component for the annual event.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of North County businesses and organizations, and experience in successful large project management, community networking, resource development, and non-profit administration. The candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to work well with volunteers and the media. Computer skills are essential. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate vendors and community organizations.
