Calima is a world music quartet. The name Calima means "heat" in a Spanish language known as Catalan. It's the heat of the land, the people and the music. The music consists of an amalgamation of styling influences ranging from Flamenco and Salsa, to South American Folk, Persian and Mediterranean.

Rockit Scientists

The Rockit Scientists take you back to when Rock 'n Roll was young, starting with songs like Jonnie B Goode and All Shook Up. They continue on to the most popular decade of them all----the 1960's. The 60s surf guitar sound comes naturally to these guys, with songs by the Ventures and Beach Boys. When they play the Beatles it sounds just like the Fab Four. . Soul music was never better that the 60's so count on some Temptations and Wilson Pickett. The end of the 60's brought us Santana, Buffalo Springfield and Jimi Hendrix; and the Rockit Scientists recreate this sound.

Semisi Ma'u, a native of the Tonga Islands, grew up playing music with his older brothers, who were popular club musicians. Now Semisi is in Southern California playing the electric guitar and is the leader of his own band. Semisi and the band perform original songs with an original approach to dance music. When Semisi mixes rhythms of the South Pacific with any style of music he takes a liking to, he calls it "Bula".

Back by popular demand after a spectacular show last year, the Lucky Lion Dancers will help ring in the New Year with a traditional Chinese Dragon Parade and Firecracker Show.
